Stars, Science and Oreo’s

Today I shot a simple, fun assignment at a local elementary school. Students and their parents spent the evening playing science-themed games, making star maps and, my favorite, using Oreo cookies to learn the phases of the moon. After the sun went down, they went out into the back yard of the school to read books by flashlight and look at the night sky through telescopes. (provided by the local astronomy club)
